Hi, I’m Shon. My mission? To help you feel more alive, more vital, and more powerful—one step at a time.
Legendary coach and Nike co-founder Bill Bowerman famously said: “If you have a body, you’re an athlete.” Why is that so? We all want to look a certain way, feel a certain way, and do certain things. Whether you want to break through plateaus in your strength training routine, walk up the stairs without huffing and puffing, open a jar with ease, or age more gracefully than your parents did—I can help.
As your mind-body health strategist, I'll help you design sustainable strategies for sleep, fitness, nutrition, and stress management—using the same cutting science that pro-athletes trust to show up stronger every day. I'm not an expert; I'm an integrator. Rather than being lost in a sea of conflicting information, I can help with clear, actionable insights. I believe health information should be accessible, and that there is more noise out there now than ever before. From diet fads to dangerous misinformation and celebrity physicians who want to sell you their books for the cure-it-all, finding out what works is hard. Want to find out how? Let’s get on a call.
"A healthy man wants a thousand things; a sick man wants only one."
— Confucius
My Story
9 month-old me, still recovering from surgery after many months with my cast.
I was born with a clubfoot, a congenital defect that causes the leg to be turned upside down. At a few months old, I had to go through a massive surgery to turn it back around. While the leg is functional, it has remained developmentally stunted and has caused me an array of pains and limitations throughout my life.
Fourteen years ago, I was mocked in high-school for “skipping” during a 200 meter dash, because the length discrepancy between my legs causes my running to look… well, more like a trot, really. After the surgery as an infant, it took my body several months in a hard cast to repair the trauma. (I am still repairing it.) To add insult to injury, I also grew up with asthma, eczema, and a severe peanut allergy, and as a result, I spent many nights as a child in the hospital; I’ve come to associate the bright, sterile environment and soft hum of the fluorescent lights with a sense of nostalgia, remembering the endless, nameless faces in white coats that so kindly gave me that sweet, breath-giving nebulizer as a child, or who softly woke me up at 4am for a blood draw.
This, coupled with my autism-ADHD superpowers of fixing my own body and developing the idea of health and fitness as a special interest for more than a decade, has enabled me to transform myself from an insecure, underweight teenager who could not stand on his left foot, to a recreational athlete with more energy and vitality than I have ever had before. I've taken what I've learned over a decade of deep immersion in health and wellness—grounded in the science of nutrition, psychology, neuroscience, exercise physiology, and the budding science of longevity—and now, I'm here to help you.
My Approach
Walk ten thousand steps a day. Move five times a week. Push hard on the bike. Eat more fiber. Get on a carnivore diet. Do a detox. Jump in ice water. Jump in hot water. Do a sweat lodge. We hear these generic guidelines get thrown around left and right. But what do they actually mean? Real health transformation doesn't happen overnight. There is no magic pill. Nor is there only one prescription or formula that you can follow to be the healthiest version of yourself; guidelines are designed for the average person, but the average person is a myth. A statistical personification of an imagined human.
I won’t give you social media fads or myths. I care about you, today. Your actions should depend on your goals. Whether you want to lose weight, get stronger, run faster (or run at all), or just feel more energetic, I’ve got you. I can help you design a personalized and comprehensive plan, backed by a deep philosophy of health integration and cutting edge science to develop a system that works.
